Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science, established in 1986,is one of the oldest departments of the College. The vision of the department is to promote a society based on Freedom, Liberty, Justice, Equality and Fraternity and its mission is to produce some conscious Citizens/Leaders responsive to their Rights, Duties and Social Responsibilities. The department has three sanctioned teaching post with students’ strength of near about 200. The department ensures to provide the best to its students along with making them practical for their future. The department holds record of having alumni with leadership qualities placed in various services of the government sector along with engagement in private sector and self start-up business. The student-teacher ratio of the department is 140: 1, excluding the HS level. The department offers its papers for Honours, non-honours at the UG level and is also available as a subject at Higher Secondary level.

PROGRAMME OUTCOME
Political Science undergraduate program was born out of
recognition of the increasing significance of cross-disciplinary studies in the
social sciences. The program is organized around the combined perspectives and
analytical tools of Sociology, Political Science, International Relations, and
History.
1. Develop knowledge of theories, concepts, and research
methods in humanities and social sciences.
2. Assess how global, national and regional developments affect
society.
3. The Political Science degree furnishes the students with a
unique multidisciplinary approach in social sciences and prepares them for
further academic study and for careers in the public and the private sector.
