The Anti-Ragging Cell of Panigaon OPD College is a statutory body constituted in compliance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to prevent and address the issue of ragging in educational institutions. The Cell is committed to ensuring a safe, secure, and respectful campus environment where students can pursue their academic goals without fear or intimidation.

The Cell is currently coordinated by Mr. Manash Protim Khonikor, Assistant Professor, Department of English, who plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of anti-ragging policies and creating awareness among students about the consequences of ragging.

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell:

• To maintain a zero-tolerance policy against ragging in any form.
• To spread awareness about the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging.
• To create a student-friendly atmosphere where new students feel welcomed and supported.
• To receive, investigate, and take necessary action on complaints of ragging, if any.
• To sensitize students through orientation programs and workshops.

Activities and Measures Undertaken:

• Anti-Ragging Declaration: All students are required to submit an online anti-ragging affidavit as mandated by UGC at the time of admission.
• Awareness Campaigns: Posters, banners, and notices are displayed across the campus to spread awareness and deter incidents of ragging.
• Orientation Programs: Special sessions are organized during the admission period to inform freshers about their rights and encourage them to report any untoward behavior.
• Monitoring and Vigilance: Regular patrolling by faculty members in hostels, classrooms, and common areas to prevent any incidents of ragging.
• Grievance Redressal Mechanism: A confidential system is in place for students to report complaints, which are addressed promptly and responsibly.
