The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Panigaon OPD College is a vibrant and socially responsive wing of the institution that plays a pivotal role in inculcating the spirit of social responsibility, service, and civic consciousness among students. The NSS unit encourages students to engage actively in community service and nation-building activities while promoting values of discipline, unity, and volunteerism.

The NSS unit is efficiently coordinated by Mr. Gunjan Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, who has been leading the unit with dedication and vision. Under his guidance, the NSS volunteers have participated in various community outreach and development programs, making a tangible impact in the surrounding rural areas.

Objectives of the NSS Unit:

• To develop students' personality through community service.

Key Activities of the NSS Unit:

• Cleanliness Drives: Regular campus and village-level cleanliness campaigns under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
• Tree Plantation Programs: Promoting environmental awareness through plantation drives.
• Awareness Campaigns: Organizing programs on health, hygiene, literacy, anti-drug campaigns, and voter awareness.
• Blood Donation Camps: Collaborating with healthcare agencies to organize blood donation drives.
• Observation of National and International Days: Active participation in commemorating days like NSS Day, International Yoga Day, Republic Day, Independence Day, and Constitution Day.
• Village Adoption and Outreach: Conducting socio-economic surveys and awareness activities in adopted villages for rural development.
• Disaster Relief and Assistance: Volunteering in times of natural calamities or emergencies by providing community aid and support.
