Panigaon OPD College's NCC unit functions under the 72 Assam Girls (I) COY NCC, part of the NCC Group Headquarters in Dibrugarh. Established on August 9, 2024, with an intake capacity of 22 cadets, the Senior Wing Girls Unit focuses on developing essential qualities like character, courage, teamwork, and leadership among youth. Led initially by Miss Priyanka Bharali, Assistant Professor, Department of English as its first Care Taker Officer (CTO), the unit is currently under the guidance of current CTO Miss Bidisha Konwar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education. The NCC program aims to instill discipline, secularism, a spirit of adventure, and selfless service in its cadets.
The NCC Unit at Panigaon OPD College provides students with valuable opportunities to participate in training programs, drills, community service, national-level camps, and prestigious events like the Republic Day Parade. It serves as a platform for the holistic development of cadets, helping them grow in confidence, leadership, and dedication to the nation. With strong support from the CTO and college administration, the unit is expected to expand and make meaningful contributions to both the institution and the wider community.
