NCC UNIT, PANIGAON OPD COLLEGE

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of Panigaon OPD College was officially established on 9th August 2024 under the 72 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC, North Lakhimpur. The establishment of the NCC Unit marks a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to fostering discipline, leadership qualities, patriotism, and social responsibility among students. The primary objective of the Unit is to develop character, comradeship, selfless service, and a sense of national integration among cadets, thereby preparing them to become responsible citizens of the nation.

During the academic session 2025–26, the NCC Unit actively participated in and organized various programmes and awareness activities for the benefit of students and society. The major activities undertaken by the Unit are as follows:

1. World No Tobacco Day (31.05.2025)

Cadets participated in an awareness programme highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

2. Blood Donation Drive (14.06.2025)

The 72 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC, North Lakhimpur, in collaboration with Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH), organized a Blood Donation Drive on 14 June 2025 at the premises of LMCH. Cadets of the NCC Unit of Panigaon OPD College actively participated in the programme and contributed to creating awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation as a life-saving humanitarian service.

3. International Yoga Day (21.06.2025)

The NCC Unit observed International Yoga Day by organizing and participating in a yoga session to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. To mark the occasion, a plantation drive was also conducted, reflecting the commitment of the cadets towards environmental sustainability and ecological awareness.

4. Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath Campaign (25.09.2025)

The Unit took part in the nationwide cleanliness and community service initiative, demonstrating commitment towards environmental awareness and civic responsibility.

5. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas – Run for Unity (31.10.2025)

Cadets participated in the "Run for Unity" programme to commemorate National Unity Day and to promote the values of national integration and unity.

6. Vande Mataram Programme (27.11.2025)

The NCC Unit organized and participated in the Vande Mataram programme to foster patriotism, national pride, and respect for the nation's cultural heritage.

The NCC Unit remains committed to empowering students through various training programmes, social service activities, and nation-building initiatives, thereby contributing to their overall personality development and leadership skills.
