The Career Counselling Cell of Panigaon OPD College plays a vital role in guiding and empowering students to make informed academic and career choices. The Cell functions with a vision to bridge the gap between education and employability, and to provide the necessary support to students in planning their careers effectively.

Since 2023, the Cell has been actively coordinated by Mr. Jyotish Engti, who has taken commendable initiatives to enhance the career readiness of students. Under his leadership, the Cell has conducted several programs, workshops, awareness drives, and one-on-one counselling sessions aimed at skill development, competitive exam preparation, and personality building.

A noteworthy recent initiative of the Cell was the Scholarship Test for Free APSC Coaching, organized in collaboration with the Impact Career Coaching Institute, Lakhimpur. This initiative aimed to support meritorious and aspiring students by providing them access to professional coaching for the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) examinations. Based on their performance in the scholarship test, two students were selected for completely free coaching, reflecting the Cell’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and equal opportunities for all.

The Career Counselling Cell continues to serve as a crucial platform for motivating students, identifying their potential, and equipping them with the right tools to succeed in their professional journeys.

Major Activities of the Career Counselling Cell:

• Career Awareness Workshops: Sessions on various career options after graduation, including government jobs, entrepreneurship, and higher studies.
• Skill Development Programs: Training in resume writing, interview techniques, soft skills, and communication skills.
• Motivational Talks & Webinars: Inviting resource persons and successful alumni to interact with students and share career journeys.
• Competitive Exam Guidance: Information sessions and preparatory guidance on exams like APSC, SSC, Banking, and other state and central services.
• One-on-One Counselling: Personalized counselling to help students identify their strengths, set career goals, and plan effectively.
• Information Dissemination: Regular updates on job opportunities, internships, scholarships, and entrance examinations through notice boards and digital platforms.
• Collaborative Programs: Partnering with reputed institutions and coaching centres for the benefit of students.
