About the Library

Started in 1984 with 25 books — now holding a large, diverse collection and e-resources.

Panigaon OPD College Library was started in 1984 along with the establishment of the college. Initially the library consisted of only 25 books and gradually the number of collection as well as the services has a collection of 14,444 copies of text and reference books covering a wide range of subjects. The library also subscribes to journals, magazines and newspapers on a regular basis.

The institution has access to 2000+ full-text electronic journals and bibliographic databases under the N-LIST programme supported by Government of India. All in-house activities (Acquisition, Cataloguing and Circulation) are partially computerised using the integrated library management software SOUL 3.0. The library regularly seeks feedback to improve services.

Library Rules

  • Library books can be borrowed only by registered members.
  • Membership remains valid while the student/teacher remains on the rolls of the college.
  • Books are issued for 15 days (unless otherwise specified).
  • The librarian may recall any book at any time.
  • Fine: ₹1 per day for late returns beyond the due date.
  • Lost or mutilated books must be replaced by the borrower.
  • All borrowed books must be returned before summer vacation begins.
  • Clearance from the librarian is mandatory to receive college admit cards.
  • Single-copy books will not be issued.
  • Maintain decorum in the library; rule violations are punishable.
  • The authority reserves the right to frame additional rules as necessary.

How to Access the Library

First, check availability yourself by browsing the stacks or via OPAC. If you cannot locate an item, ask the library bearer on duty. If still unsuccessful, approach the librarian for assistance.

If you lose a library card or book, immediately report the issue to the librarian.
